Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 technically isn’t even out yet, but it’s already hitting some server-related snags. Players who grabbed one the game’s special editions are able to get stuck in four days early — ahead of the title’s full release on the 9th September — and it’s becoming clear that the sci-fi shooter is pretty damn popular.

To be clear, this isn’t just a case of all players immediately hitting a brick wall upon booting up the game — a lot of these issues seem to come and go depending on what modes you’re playing and who you’re playing them with.

The most popular complaints talk of long loading screens as the title attempts to establish connections — regardless of whether you’re in an active party. Even worse, these lengthy load times can result in being kicked from the session, which becomes a real point of frustration if you’re halfway through one of the game’s sizeable campaign or co-op missions.

For what it’s worth, we’ve ran into a handful of problems ourselves, ranging from standard connection errors to some rather brutal bouts of lag. Thankfully, though, most of our time with Space Marine 2 has been issue-free.

The question, then, is if Space Marine 2 can hold things together when it launches in full next week. The hope is that developer Saber Interactive can address these server issues now rather than later — although that’s not ideal if you’ve just paid extra for an edition of the game that promises early access.

Anyway, publisher Focus Entertainment is asking for feedback, and it ensures that its teams are working on fixes for various problems:
