Fisch Doomsday Mutation Guide
The Doomsday Mutation began infesting servers shortly after the Roslit Volcano eruption. 10% of fish caught in the Ashfall event pool will surface with the x4 value multiplier Doomsday mutation, and appear bright orange. This enhancement cannot be uncovered through Appraisals and is limited solely to the event duration.
Ashfall began as soon as Roslit Volcano erupted, covering a large portion of the island’s waters in a viscous bright orange magma pool. Fortunately, unlike when fishing inside Roslit, you don’t need a Reinforced or Magma rod to fish in the waters. Whilst fishing here, you’ll find a mix of Ashfall limited bestiary fish, and Roslit Bay fish. Oddly enough, the Ocean fish Coelacanth occasionally appears with the Doomsday mutation even outside of the Ashfall event area.
The Money-Maker!
Inside the Ashfall event waters, the most valuable fish, the Ashcloud Archerfish sells for an average of 19,500 C$. That is, after dealing with its hefty -90% progress speed. But, paired with the Doomsday mutation, this fish easily reaches values of up to 78,000 C$! To maximise Doomsday encounters with this fish, I recommend waiting for Mutation Surge events or using rods with the Mutated enchantment to increase your chance of finding them.
Also, it helps to tempt the fish onto your line using its preferences to your advantage. The Ashcloud Archerfish loves Foggy Weather and Coal Bait. Fairly simple.
