The Fisch Calm Zone area contains a puzzle that leads you to the Veil of the Forsaken, as well as plenty of fish to catch for your Bestiary!
Relax in Fisch. Another area you need to know about is the Fisch Volcanic Vents location, which is one of the first spots you explore when making your way through the caves of Mariana’s Veil.
Fisch Calm Zone
The Calm Zone is the layer in the cave system that is just before the Veil of the Forsaken! The latter is the final area of Mariana’s Veil. If you wish, you can set this location as your spawn via the Innkeeper NPC. While there’s a Submariner NPC, you cannot use your vehicle here or upgrade it.
Calm Zone Puzzle
The completion of the Calm Zone puzzle is required when unlocking access to the Veil of the Forsaken.
- Follow the Rainbow River in the Calm Zone to the south
- Swim underwater (you may need to upgrade your Glimmerfin Suit for this) and through the tunnel until you reach a new room
- In this room, there is a gate, which you must open by collecting a Crowned Anglerfish (Abyssal Zenith), a Frozen Leviathan (Challenger’s Deep), and a Magma Leviathan (Volcanic Vents)
- Once you have the 3 fish, place them all to open the gate
As the Calm Zone is one of the later areas in Mariana’s Veil, you already have access to the Challenger’s Deep, Abyssal Zenith and Volcanic Vents locations. The required fish are all of the Secret rarity, which means they are extremely rare to obtain.

How to Get to the Calm Zone
Just in case you don’t know how to get to this location, I’ll cover it here! You need to obtain the Angler’s Lantern (Exotic rarity) in the Abyssal Zenith area, as well as complete 2 upgrades regarding your submarine and Glimmerfin Suit. After these upgrades, your submarine can descend into the Calm Zone.
Deep Upgrade
One of these upgrades is the Deep Upgrade for the submarine. To complete this, you must collect the following:
- Angler’s Lantern (Exotic rarity)
- Level 2 Glimmerfin Suit
- 1 Abyssal Bearded Seadevil (Uncommon rarity)
- 1 Voidglow Ghostfish (Legendary)
Glimmerfin Suit Upgrade
As you need the Level 2 Glimmerfin Suit to upgrade the submarine, you also need to get the Glimmerfin Suit to Level 3. You can do this via Abyssal Zenith’s Submarine Upgrade Station! At Level 3, the temperature is permanently set to 37 degrees Celsius.
