Are there any major differences between the Doors Curious Light and its Guiding counterpart? Yes and no!

Have you met the Curious Light in Doors yet? If you have absolutely no clue what I’m talking about when I refer to the ‘Guiding Light’, our Doors Guiding Light piece may help, where I discuss whether the entity is dangerous or not!

Doors Curious Light

Not to be confused with the Guiding Light, the Curious Light works a little differently. Instead of having a blue aura, it has a yellow one. And instead of a moon being present after the post-death screen, it’s a star.

The noise both of these lights emit are both pleasant sounds, and nothing overtly scary like the other entities in Doors, but the Curious Light sound is quieter than its counterpart. To spot the Curious Light, you need to die in The Backdoor area and The Rooms.

Like the Guiding Light, the Curious variant also hints at points of interest to help you progress through the room. However, the tips during the post-death screen are usuaslly unhelpful.

You can access The Backdoor via the lobby but you need to have the Detour achievement to do so. To get the Detour badge, you must enter The Rooms, which is a separate area that acts as a spin-off. It’s also inspired by the game, Rooms! If you want to find The Rooms, you must reach Door 60 in The Hotel on Floor 1 – there’s a pathway that leads to it!

The Curious Light entity doesn’t light up a room like the Guiding Light, and focuses on highlighting items you need to pick up or doors you should enter. It also appears in The Basement in Door 61 but doesn’t make itself present.

There are theories that the Curious Light has a physical form because it mentions that it’s responsible for the levers that help you when going against Haste.
