Desert Detectors Meteor Guide
You may have noticed the Grayson NPC who watches the sky through his telescope on the edge of Dusthaven. This NPC charges 275 Robux to cast a Meteor Shower, or 475 for a Mega Meteor Shower. Alternatively, if you’re patient, one will happen naturally in the server you’re in. Just watch out for the announcement at the top of the game screen.
During a standard Meteor Shower, only a few collide into the sand and wait to be uncovered by players. It’s a race against time as they’re easy to spot thanks to their impact craters, telling their location. No detectors needed! Likewise, a Mega Meteor Shower is similar except far more Meteors crash down onto the map, meaning more chances to dig one up for yourself without scrapping with other players for the find.
Meteors have the red Mythic rarity, typically sell for over 10l C$, but can climb way higher with multipliers. To secure one, I recommend purchasing a decent Shovel with well-balanced power and speed to carve larger holes faster than other players and beat them to it. My personal favourite is the Seraded Shovel from the small townhouse near the Train.
Additionally, I recommend buying a vehicle and travelling away from other players to increase your chances of finding an undisturbed Meteor. The less people, the less competition! The map is surprisingly large when you venture around it.
Just for fun, you could equip a charm too which enhances player luck and item size by a percentage. The bigger the better!
Strange Stones
A little different from Meteors but just as alien, Strange Strones appear randomly with no notification and their top is visible above the sand. These huge purple rarity finds may even be rarer than Meteors! They’re huge in weight and have a blue and purple oil-spill like appearance which shimmers with a small flowy animation.
