While multiple third-party games have already got an update to patch in PS5 Pro enhancements, don’t count on Cyberpunk 2077 as one of those games, as confirmed by developer CD Projekt RED.
CD Projekt RED confirmed there are no plans for a PS5 Pro update for Cyberpunk 2077 in response to a fan on X:
This is surprising news, to be honest, as CDPR is usually at the forefront of integrating new tech into its games. Then again, with the studio heavily entrenched with the development of the new Witcher game, and Cyberpunk 2077’s journey concluding with the Phantom Liberty DLC, perhaps the studio has just moved on from the sci-fi RPG.
If you haven’t played Cyberpunk 2077 before or were put off by its initial lackluster critical reception, it’s in a much better state now after CDPR’s numerous title updates brought it back from mediocrity to something much, much more. The overhaul was so significant that we even had to re-review it last year, and it states, “Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 shines brightest when treated as a nearly linear, movie-like experience. From that perspective, it’s absolutely worth your time.”
Cyberpunk 2077’s comeback is possibly one of the most impressive we’ve seen in all of gaming, and if you want to read more on how some flops manage to come back from a disastrous launch, go read our article on the 8 Gaming Flops That Made Incredible Comebacks.
