Another behind-the-scenes book you can add to your Star Wars library is The Star Wars Archives 1977-1983s, which will be released on September 3 for $100. This is what you’d call a coffee table book, as it’s big, has a widescreen format, and a ton of photos to gaze at. Inside you’ll find script pages, production documents, concept art, storyboards, on-set photography, stills, and posters–a very nice collection of material that makes for easy reading. If you can’t wait that long, there’s a very budget-friendly–and much smaller–40th Anniversary Edition available now for $18.50.

If you’re a big fan of the Prequel Trilogy, there’s also The Star Wars Archives version of that era arriving on November 15. Priced at $100, this book was made with the full cooperation of George Lucas and Lucasfilm, and it covers The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, and Revenge of the Sith. Like the Original Trilogy book, you’re getting a wealth of behind-the-scenes concept art, photos, and interviews in this book. What makes it particularly interesting is that the prequels were developed during an exciting time in filmmaking, as digital technology was making massive strides at the time and Star Wars creator George Lucas went all in with digital cameras, sets, and characters for these films. A smaller 2022 edition of the book is already available, and it’ll cost you $24.
